The product does get the job done, but not the way I would have hoped. Sound seems muffled. Can't turn up the volume too much or I will start hearing some distortion. Not very pleased with overall sound quality.
Now I have my music in the car and have not turned on the radio since. I am incredibly surprised by the sound quality and simple operation of this cassette adapter with my new mp3 player. I bought it based on Maxell brand awareness and quality and will do it again when needed.
The only little annoyance is, that now a cable is sticking out of the cassette deck and hangs around the front panel. Sound quality is surprisingly good, the basic volume could be a bit higher but otherwiese it produces a clear and rich sound. But eventually I will fix it somewhere, where it is not in the way anymore. I drive an old car, without a CD drive. It has a cassette drive, though and I had an additional MP3Player I did not use anymore, so I bought this gadget - and it works.
I have had no problems whatsoever with this unit and would recommend it to anyone. The problem area with other one is where the cord connects to the tape and on the other end of the cord where it connects to your audio player. This Cassette Adapter uses a much more durable cord, which gives it better reliability and sound quality. Works great. I have a discerning ear for sound quality, and this exceeds all other units I've tried. I use it for my mp3 player in my car, and the sound quality exceeds the ones I've used in the past. It is excellent quality. I had a couple ones from Radio Shack before this one that didn't hold up for very long, and broke after a short while.
This is a good cassette adapter for anyone that is looking for a cassette adapter that works with a auto-reverse cassette deck. I was a little nervous about buying this because my cassette deck has auto-reverse, but after receiving it and using it during my 2 hour commute I must say that I am very pleased.
